Wheel Offset Calculator

Visualize fitment. Calculate clearance. Stance perfection.

Current Wheel

New Wheel

Fitment Changes

Inner Clearance: 0mm more

You have more clearance on the inside. Safe.

Outer Position: extend in by 0mm

The wheel will be more tucked in.

Understanding Wheel Fitment

Getting the right stance or fitting wider tires requires understanding how wheel width and offset interact.

Positive vs. Negative Offset

  • Positive Offset (+): The hub mounting surface is towards the front (street side) of the wheel. Most modern cars use this.
  • Zero Offset (0): The hub is exactly in the middle of the wheel width.
  • Negative Offset (-): The hub is towards the back (brake side) of the wheel. Common on deep dish wheels for trucks or widebody cars.

The "Flush" Fitment

To get a "flush" look where the wheel aligns perfectly with the fender, you typically need to push the wheel out (decrease offset or increase width).

FAQ

What is wheel offset?

Offset is the distance from the hub mounting surface to the centerline of the wheel. It's usually measured in millimeters.

What does 'ET' mean?

ET comes from the German word 'Einpresstiefe', which literally translates to 'insertion depth'. ET45 means an offset of 45mm.

Will zero offset fit my car?

Usually, no. Most modern cars use high positive offset (+35 to +55). Zero offset pushes the wheel significantly outwards and may cause rubbing on the fender.
