Understanding PayPal Fees

PayPal charges transaction fees for receiving money for goods and services. The fees consist of a percentage of the transaction plus a fixed feeper transaction. These fees help PayPal cover payment processing and fraud protection costs.

The PayPal Fee Formula

Fee = (Amount × Rate%) + Fixed Fee

For example, on a $100 domestic transaction:

Fee = ($100 × 3.49%) + $0.49 = $3.49 + $0.49 = $3.98
